Sheer Khurma Recipe

Sheer Khurma is a delicious and rich dessert made with vermicelli, milk, dates, dry fruits, and more, commonly prepared for Eid and special occasions.

Ingredients (from Shop Suki's Eid Essentials Collection)

• 1 cup vermicelli noodles
• 4 cups fresh milk (full cream preferred)
• ½ cup sugar
• 2 tbsp butter or margarine
• ¼ cup chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, or pistachios)
• ½ cup chopped dates
• 2 tbsp raisins
• A pinch of salt (to enhance flavor)

Cooking time is approximately 30 minutes.

Instructions

1. Toast the Vermicelli:
Heat butter/margarine in a pot over medium heat.
Add broken vermicelli and stir-fry until golden brown.

2. Add Milk & Simmer:
Pour in milk, and stir well.
Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low.

3. Sweeten & Flavor:
Stir in sugar, dates, raisins, and a pinch of salt.
Cook for 10-15 minutes until vermicelli softens.

4. Add Nuts & Thicken:
Stir in chopped nuts, and simmer for another 5 minutes.
If too thick, add more milk.

5. Serve & Enjoy
Hot: Serve warm.
Cold: Chill in the fridge and enjoy later!
